چکیده
The Blue-throated Macaw (Ara glaucogularis) is a Critically Endangered species endemic to the Llanos de Moxos ecosystem of Beni, Bolivia. To aid conservation northwestern population that utilizes Barba Azul Nature Reserve during non-breeding season, we set out learn sites where these birds breed using satellite telemetry. We describe preliminary tests conducted on captive (at Loro Parque Foundation, Tenerife, Spain) resulted in choosing Geotrak Parrot Collars, metal, battery-operated unit provides data through Argos system. In September 2019, tagged three with collars, and received migration for two birds, until battery depletion November December 2019. Our migrant were tracked leaving same date (27 September), but departed divergent directions (approximately 90 degrees separation). They settled approximately 50–100 km from Azul. Some details work are restricted concern as still faces poaching pressures. Knowing their likely breeding grounds, reserve managers site visits tracked, resulting discovery although no carrying transmitter seen then. A single individual its collar was spotted 13 August 2021 at suggests Macaws use scattered across region, within recognized boundaries subpopulation. conclude collars feasible option research could provide further insights.

Reproductive Parameters in the Critically Endangered Blue-Throated Macaw: Limits to the Recovery of a Parrot under Intensive Management
Rediscovered in the wild twenty years ago, the breeding biology of wild Blue-throated Macaws remains largely unexplored, yet is essential to its effective conservation and recovery. Here, we analyse reproductive parameters in an intensively managed wild population of Blue-throated Macaws, providing the first data on the breeding biology of this critically endangered species. During the six-year...
متن کاملBlue toe syndrome Síndrome do dedo azul
The authors report the case of a man with blue toe syndrome, who developed bilateral foot ischemia and underwent successful repair of an abdominal aortic aneurysm and associated renal artery stenosis. Blue toe syndrome is characterized by tissue ischemia secondary to embolization of cholesterol crystals or atherothrombotic debris. Microembolization most often occurs in elderly men who undergo a...
متن کاملPopulation density affects foraging behavior of male Black-throated Blue Warblers during the breeding season
Foraging behavior often reflects food availability, a resource that may increasingly limit breeding birds as intraspecific crowding increases. Measuring foraging behavior, therefore, provides a way to investigate effects of population density on food limitation, an important link in understanding how crowding functions to regulate populations. We quantified three components of foraging behavior...
متن کاملLong-term satellite record reveals likely recent aerosol trend.
Analysis of the long-term Global Aerosol Climatology Project data set reveals a likely decrease of the global optical thickness of tropospheric aerosols by as much as 0.03 during the period from 1991 to 2005. This recent trend mirrors the concurrent global increase in solar radiation fluxes at Earth's surface and may have contributed to recent changes in surface climate.

BACKGROUND The Chácobo are a Panoan speaking tribe of about 1000 members (300+ adults) in Beni, Bolivia. Originally nomadic, the Chácabo were relocated to their current main location in the 1960s. Researchers have visited the Chácabo since 1911. A first more detailed anthropological report exists from the late 1960s, and ecological-ethnobotanical studies were conducted in the 1980s and 1990s.
